Hidden Grove sits just far enough from the highway for the world to forget about it, tucked between slow-moving creeks, oak trees that lean with age, and long dirt roads that rise and fall like old stories. It’s the kind of small town where porch lights still matter, where neighbors wave whether they know you or not, and where every path carries the soft echo of a hundred footsteps that came before. Mornings arrive gentle here, mist drifting over Otter Creek, birds starting their chatter early, and the scent of damp earth settling in before the sun takes hold.

But Hidden Grove is not as quiet as it pretends to be. Shadows gather in familiar places, and history clings to landmarks like Hickory Cemetery, Blackbird Lane, and the old Crenshaw property. Strange things happen in ways only a small town can hide, tucked between shuttered barns and forgotten trails. Kids grow up knowing when the wind shifts, when the creek runs too still, or when a light glows where no one should be. Hidden Grove holds stories in its roots, and it takes a certain kind of kid, curious, brave, a little stubborn, to pull at those threads and see what might be waiting underneath.
